Get elected – and help UNISON remain relevant and effective in the 2020s

This year UNISON is holding elections for all of its service group executive committees.

The union is divided into seven service groups – health, local government, higher education, police and justice, community, water, environment and transport and energy. These are an important part of the union’s democracy and how UNISON continually works to improve the working lives of members.

Every two years UNISON members can stand for election to their service group executive, the committee which oversees the work of the service group on matters such as pay and working conditions.

If you’d like to stand for election or your branch would like to make a nomination, the nomination period opens on 27 January and closes at 5pm on 6 March. Voting will take place in May.

Branches should ensure that the names of the branch officers are up to date on the RMS or WARMS systems. If not, please contact your regional office and ask them to amend the branch records as soon as possible.

Election materials and information on the election procedures can be downloaded from unison.org.uk/elections from 9 January.

And for more information, contact the member liaison unit at elections@unison.co.uk.
